Recommended Vaccine Schedule for Kittens and Cats
Age Vaccine Type
9 – 12 weeks FVRCP
15 – 16 weeks Same as above
19 – 20 weeks Same as above (optional)
5 months Rabies, recombinant vaccine only (give at least 3 to 4 weeks apart from FVRCP)
1 year FVRCP
1 year Rabies, recombinant vaccine only (give at least 3 to 4 weeks apart from FVRCP)
The optional vaccine may be recommended if your kitten received the first FVRCP prior to 8 weeks of age or if there is an outbreak of one of the diseases covered by the FVRCP. After the one year vaccines the standard of practice is to administer vaccines every 3 years thereafter. If your cat is older or has health issues, we should discuss possible alternatives including measuring titers prior to administering any vaccine.
